Back in November of 2012, Miranda Lambert made one of her dreams come true when she opened first Pink Pistol store in Tishomingo, Oklahoma, the small town where she lived with her husband Blake Shelton.
Lambert had always dreamed of owning her own store, so it came as a heartbreaking surprise to her fans when she announced she was closing it this week and selling the building to her now ex-husband Shelton.
“I want to send a heartfelt thank you to all the employees who worked hard to help me bring the store in Tishomingo to life, as well as the patrons who came to experience the Pink Pistol and supported the store,” Lambert said in a press release, according to Taste of Country. “Sometimes you need to close a chapter to build on a new beginning or go back home.”
Over the past year, Lambert has been struggling to get over her divorce from Shelton, which came as a shock to their millions of fans. The store which had once been her dream likely became an area filled with heartbreaking memories for Lambert, so selling it became her only option.
While this location is closing, Lambert has told her fans that she plans to expand the Pink Pistol brand in other areas of the country. As for Shelton, he says he has big plans for the location where the store used to be.
“As a resident of Tishomingo I’m very sorry that the Pink Pistol has decided to move its operations out of the area,” Shelton said in a statement, according to Yahoo News. “We all, as a community, appreciate everything it has done for our town. As for the actual properties left behind… I was offered the opportunity to buy them, and I have a plan brewing.”
Please continue to keep Miranda Lambert in your prayers as she continues to try to get over this difficult divorce.
