The country music world is in mourning today after legendary singer/songwriter Guy Clark passed away after a long battle with cancer. He was 74 years-old.
According to The Political Insider, Clark released over twenty albums during his career and wrote songs for other singers like Kris Kristofferson, Jimmy Buffet, Alan Jackson, George Strait, Brad Paisley, Vince Gill, Ricky Skaggs, and Johnny Cash. He is in the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame, and he won a Grammy for Best Folk Album in 2014.
Clark was married to his beloved wife Susanna for 40 years until she died of lung cancer back in 2012. The country singer is survived by his son Travis and daughter-in-law Krista McMurtry Clark; grandchildren Dylan and Ellie Clark; sisters Caroline Clark Dugan and Jan Clark; manager and friend Keith Case; caretaker and sweetheart Joy Brogdon; nieces, nephews and many, many dear friends, colleagues and fans.
