Donald Trump officially became the presumptive GOP nominee this week, so the focus has shifted to speculating as to who will be appointed to his cabinet should he win the general election.
Dr. Ben Carson has been selected to run the committee advising Trump on who he should pick as his Vice President and for other positions in his administration. According to The Political Insider, Carson dropped a bombshell on Wednesday when he revealed Trump is considering appointing Texas Senator Ted Cruz as his Attorney General.
“I think he would be terrific on the Supreme Court, or I think he would be a terrific attorney general. Or he could be both,” Carson told Fox News Radio’s John Gibson.
Carson was then asked if he would be “smart” for Trump to appoint Cruz to the Supreme Court.
“He could be attorney general first, you know, go ahead and prosecute Hillary, and then go on the Supreme Court,” Carson added.
Carson acknowledged that there are “deep wounds” from the election, and it may “take a little while for that to occur.”
