GOP presidential frontrunner Donald Trump got some devastating news on Friday when a handful of former contestants from his reality TV show The Apprentice issued a joint statement condemning the business mogul.
According to Mediaite, the statement was read on CNN by The Apprentice season 1 runner-up Kwame Jackson. Former Season 4 contestant Marshawn Evans Daniels and Randal Pinkett were also included in the group of Trump dissenters.
“Into that void of uncertainty and fear has stepped Mr. Trump, stoking flames of our worst demons to the chagrin of our better angels,” Jackson said on Friday. “As a citizen, patriot, and leader, it is my duty to use my small platform to speak the truth, arouse our collected conscience, and channel the best version of America I know is within us all.”
Since the New York primary is just a few days away, Jackson is hoping his words will make people think twice before voting Trump.
“This is no time to run and be silent… so let us choose Kennedy over Kardashian-ism each and every time as a leading nation. Muhammad Ali over McCarthyism — that is why I defiantly stand up,” he said.
Trump issued a counter statement of his own, calling the former contestants “a group of failing wannabes” and describing them as “losers.”
