While Americans were all distracted with the primaries this week, Obama quietly continued with his plans to increase the flow of Syrian refugees into America.
“We want to make sure that we can increase our numbers of refugees that are able to settle here,” said Felicia Escobar, special assistant to the president for immigration policy. “The need globally is so, so, so massive right now, given all the displacement and conflict around the world, but we also know that we have to do it in a way that’s smart.”
According to Western Journalism, the US is currently allowed to bring in 10,000 Syrian refugees a year, but the Obama administration is trying to increase that to as many as 75,000 a year. Local counties are furious about Obama’s resettlement plans because they don’t have the resources to deal with all the newcomers.
“Many times we don’t even know that relocation is taking place until it’s going on,” said Weld County (Colo.) Commissioner Sean Conway.
These reports come just a day after Gen. Philip Breedlove, NATO’s top commander, told the Senate Armed Services Committee that ISIS is “spreading like cancer” among refugees, and that the terrorist group is “taking advantage of paths of least resistance, threatening European nations and our own,” he said.
If we continue to let Obama go about these plans, there is no doubt that our country will face a devastating terrorist attack at the hands of ISIS. What do you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section.
