The liberal world of Hollywood has done everything in it’s power to blacklist Angie Harmon for continuing to voice her conservative Christian views. The patriotic actress, however, isn’t shutting up anytime soon.
Though she has been in the entertainment industry for over twenty years, the Dallas-native is continually ignored by the mainstream media due to her “controversial” views. Instead of being ignored, this is a woman Americans everywhere should be looking up to.
According to Q Political, Harmon is a devout Christian who has never been afraid to discuss her faith openly.
“The one thing I’ve learned is that even in my darkest moments, when I feel the most alone, I’m not alone. I can still talk to God and ask for help. I want my girls to know that,” Harmon said. I pray every day for my little girls. It’s hard out there for the younger generation.”
When asked about her normal Sunday, Harmon gave an answer that had liberals everywhere enraged.
“In North Carolina we go to church, but I don’t really have a church in L.A. so these days we get up, put on our swimsuits, and hang out by the pool,” she said. “It’s very restful. We have Sunday night dinner with friends and their kids and some of the cast. I just got this fabulous outdoor dining table that lights on fire down the middle. I just love that I’ve got people around that table every Sunday.”
Back in 2010, Harmon made headlines when she made the “controversial” decision to move her daughters out of Los Angeles so that she could raise them in the conservative world of North Carolina.
“It was too fast for my little girls,” Angie said about the Los Angeles lifestyle. “They were coming home and talking about things that they had no business talking about —things like making out with a boy.”
“We all love living in Charlotte because it exudes a small town mentality and we feel like we are part of a nice stable community. Everything is close. Our friends live near, shopping and schools are a short drive away. And there is a lot of pride in the neighborhood,” she added. “I’m happy that we moved. One day, my kids are going to say, ‘Remember when we sat in the yard [in North Carolina] and fed the geese?’ I’m so proud that I can give them these memories. And I’m more grounded and centered in North Carolina because it’s a slower way of life. We go bike riding or go to the ice cream parlor.”
Harmon has also spoken at length about the affect being a Republican has had on her career.
“When I quote, unquote came out [as a Republican] I had no idea I was doing something that was detrimental to my career. It never occurred to me. I’m an American. I’m going to have an opinion as everybody else does and I was asked a question. The fact that it was turned into that I was a gay hating racist was just heartbreaking. It was really horrible.”
“If someone’s not going to hire me because I don’t think the way they think, ok great, its America go ahead but I promise you there are a lot more Republicans in L.A. than people think. Believe me I got all the phone calls of support. I know there are. We’ve become so intolerant of each other that it’s just sickening. It’s just heartbreaking. United we stand, divided we fall. We have got to learn to be tolerant of each other. It’s pretty obvious we’re not going to al think the same way but we’ve got to learn to appreciate every American for the fact that they have the right to think the way they do.”
“Our forefathers moved here for freedom of speech and wanting to be able to have their own opinion. I don’t care if you’re Republican or a Democrat or a Liberal, getting crucified for the way you think or believe, obviously if it’s not hurting anyone, it’s just Un-American.”
