Throughout the 2016 presidential race, Hillary Clinton has taken it for granted that she will secure the Democratic nomination and has never taken Bernie Sanders seriously. New reports, however, have revealed she has made a huge mistake, and may not get the nomination after all.
According to Breitbart, Hillary’s campaign manager Robby Mook was forced to admit on Thursday that Sanders raised more than her in January. This undoubtedly was extremely humiliating for Hillary to admit publicly.
“He outraised us in January,” Mook said at a Bloomberg Politics breakfast, according to CBS News. “We’ve been very candid with our online supporters that Senator Sanders’ online supporters have given more often — a higher proportion of his list contributes.”
This comes after Sanders’ campaign announced on Saturday that he raised over $20 million last month. Hillary was only able to raise $15 million, showing that Democrats are quickly losing faith in her.
This is even more impressive when you realize that most of Hillary’s money comes from big donors, while Sanders is surviving off small donations at an average of $27 per person. This means that he likely has far more support than Hillary at this moment.
As a Republican, I would much rather see Sanders get the Democratic nomination because I think any of our candidates could wipe the floor with him. SHARE this story if you agree!
