An Arizona sheriff risked his entire career this week to urge Americans to arm themselves and learn how to use guns so that they could defend themselves against terrorist attacks.
“I wish we could have a cop in every corner, in every neighborhood, in every school… we just can’t,” Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu said in a press conference on Saturday.
According to Infowars, Babeu went on to tell Americans they should take firearms safety courses that would teach “weapon familiarization, weapon qualification, how to carry and education on the laws.”
“We want a citizen to add to the equation,” the sheriff continued. “Be armed to protect yourself, protect your family until we can get there.”
Later on, the Pinal County Sheriff’s Department issued a Facebook post reminding residents about their constitutional right to bear arms.
“You do NOT need the permission of the government to carry concealed in Arizona,” the post read. “We are STRONG defenders of our 2nd Amendment rights. We call for Arizona licensed concealed carry permit holders to step up and defend themselves, their families, and others, when faced with an armed attacker prior to law enforcement arrival.”
In Obama’s America, it’s considered risky to say anything positive about the Second Amendment. Thankfully, Babeu doesn’t care about this: all he cares about is protecting the American people.
