A Muslim Palestinian brutally stabbed an Israeli police officer on Sunday in Jerusalem before being shot dead by local authorities. Hours later, a woman was waiting for a bus when she was stabbed in the back by a Palestinian teenager.
Police spokeswoman Luba Samri told reporters that a 38 year-old Palestinian walked past two officers standing by a gate in the Old City and yelled “God is the Greatest” as he stabbed one of them in the neck. According to Breitbart, the cop was moderately wounded, and his fellow officers opened fire on the Palestinian.
When he was dead, another knife was found on the Muslim man as well.
Just a few hours later, a woman was waiting for a bus when she was stabbed in the back by a Palestinian teenager. The woman was a foreign national, and she was rushed to the hospital as police launched a search of the entire city to find the boy responsible. The Muslim teenager was later located on a nearby construction site.
This is just the latest in the escalation of violence Palestine has inflicted on Israel. At his weekly cabinet meeting, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu lamented that this violence was driven by, “opposition to the existence of the state of Israel as the national state of the Jewish people, in any borders whatsoever.”
“Added to this opposition is an element of radical Islam that strikes worldwide – in Paris, in London, in Madrid, in Mali – where there are of course no settlements,” he added.
