Thousands Of Women Now Having ‘Designer Vagina’ Surgery ‘To Look Good In Bikinis and Yoga Pants’

A new form of plastic surgery is sweeping the country, and it’s all about getting the perfect vagina.

According to Daily Mail, the desire to look good in swimming suits and yoga pants has caused thousands of women to flock to plastic surgeons in the hopes of securing a “designer vagina.” The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) revealed recently that there has been a 49% increase in vaginal operations from 2013 to 2014, and it reportedly rose even more this year!

Girls anywhere from 16 to 75 are trying to get the Labiaplasty procedure done. This procedure is performed on the labia, also known as the “lips” of the vagina. Most labiaplasty surgeries aim to make the labia smaller, or correct asymmetrical aspects of it.

Other women are opting for Vaginoplasty, which tries to “tighten up” the vagina, since it often loosens due to childbirth or aging.

Dr Jennifer Walden, an aesthetic plastic surgeon and spokeswoman for the ASAPS, commented that Labiaplasty is “one of the most popular cosmetic procedures in women.”

“It is one of the fastest rising procedures, in terms of popularity,” she added. “It can prove life-changing for so many patients.”

She went on to say that she performs two to three Labiaplasty operations a week.

Walden believes that the increase in pornographic images of women have caused many to be insecure about how their genitals look.

“There has been a rise in women going bare, down there, having Brazilian waxes and laser hair removal,” she told Daily Mail Online. “It has become fashionable and as a result women have, all of a sudden, started to see things they may not have taken notice of before.”

Labiaplasties, however, aren’t only about vanity.

“The majority of consultations I perform are on women who do have enlarged labia,” she said. “This is not a made up problem. It can have serious consequences.”
