New reports have revealed that the Pentagon is currently preparing for war with Russia.
According to Foreign Policy, the Department of Defense is currently reviewing and updating it’s contingency plans for armed conflict with Russia. The Pentagon has barely changed these plans since 1991, when the Soviet Union collapsed, but new developments have made some government officials believe that war with Russia is imminent.
“Given the security environment, given the actions of Russia, it has become apparent that we need to make sure to update the plans that we have in response to any potential aggression against any NATO allies,” said one senior defense official, who is familiar with the plans.
“Russia’s invasion of eastern Ukraine made the U.S. dust off its contingency plans,” added Michèle Flournoy, a former undersecretary of defense for policy and co-founder of the Center for a New American Security. “They were pretty out of date.”
The new plans involve two tracks: the first is what the U.S. can do as part of NATO if Russia attacks another NATO country. The second involves the U.S.’s actions outside of NATO.
The prospect of war with Russia should come as no surprise to anyone, since Vlademir Putin has made it clear that he has no respect for Obama. He clearly sees our president as the weak fool that he is, so Putin likely sees this as a prime time to attack America and take over.
We think Putin will probably be singing a very different tune when Trump takes office…
