At the Republican debate last Thursday, Megyn Kelly tried to save her struggling television show by going after Donald Trump in front of millions of people.
Unfortunately for her, this turned out to be a huge mistake.
The backlash against Kelly for her inexcusable behavior during the debate was swift. Over 50,000 people signed a petition demanding she be banned from ever hosting a debate again, and even her co-anchors at Fox started to turn on her. Things got worse for her when Trump himself fired back at her, and yesterday Kelly announced that she will be going on a 10 day vacation, effective immediately.
Despite all of this, Fox has just made an announcement that is sure to leave Trump and his supporters enraged. According to Conservative Tribune, Fox has just announced that they will be having the the same moderators run their next debate, which is to take place in January of 2016.
This means that Chris Wallace, Brett Baier, and Megyn Kelly will once again have the opportunity to attack Trump in front of a national audience. This will come as a huge disappointment to millions of conservatives, many of whom signed the petition in the hopes of ensuring that Kelly will never moderate a debate again.
“Megyn Kelly characterizes the presidential selection process as “fun,” dismissing the millions of Americans that find it much more serious. We deserve better than Megyn Kelly,” the petition read. “While her disdain for Mr. Trump was evident, this petition is a call for truly fair and balanced coverage of all candidates. Therefore, and as evidenced by her clear bias and poor performance, Megyn Kelly should be barred from hosting or moderating all future Republican presidential debates.”
It remains to be seen what backlash Fox will receive for this ridiculous decision. What do you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section.
