For the last few weeks, we have been reporting on Donald Trump, who found himself the target of liberal backlash after he criticized the U.S.’s relationship with Mexico during his campaign announcement.
While many didn’t take Trump seriously as a presidential candidate at the beginning, that all changed last week when polls revealed that Trump is currently the frontrunner in the race for the GOP nomination. Despite his success, the GOP establishment has been on a mission to take Trump down because he refuses to let them control him.
In just a few hours, Trump will be participating in his first debate ever on Fox News in front of millions of people. Though he is going up against nine people with experience in debates, he was given one piece of news today that is sure to give him confidence: he is the frontrunner in the polls by far.
The latest polls say that Trump is one of two GOP candidates in the double digits. The only other candidate to pass the 10% mark is Jeb Bush, who is currently polling in at 15%. Trump is now at an all-time high of 26%, meaning he has nearly lapped his closest competition.
The other eight candidates participating in tonight’s debate aren’t even within striking distance of Trump. Scott Walker is at 9%, Ben Carson is at 7%, and Ted Cruz and Mike Huckabee are each at 6%. The other four candidates haven’t even passed 5% in the polls…
This news is sure to give Trump some confidence going into his first debate ever. We wish him luck, and we can’t wait to see how he does!
