A Texas father was sentenced to life in prison on Friday after he fathered his underage daughter’s child and sexually abused two other children for over ten years.
Danny Richard Minor, 40, was convicted on five counts of sexual abuse for abusing two of his own children as well as an unrelated child between 2002 and 2009. One of the victims came forward about the abuse in 2009, but the investigation was stalled due to “conflicting statements.”
After 2009, Minor moved 20 miles away and continued to abuse the children until a second child came forward in June of 2014. According to Daily Mail, the statement this child made matched the one from 2009. Police were then able to obtain a search warrant for his DNA, and they then made a disturbing discovery.
“A paternity test confirmed that Minor is the biological father of his daughter’s child,” Collin County District Attorney’s Office spokesman Bill Dobiyanski told the press.
Minor was found guilty of three counts of Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Young Child and two counts of Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child. The first charge involves children under the age of 14 years-old.
Minor has been sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. It is unclear how old his daughter and her baby are.
