A 911 dispatcher is in danger of losing their job after they were caught treating an emergency caller in a despicable way.
On June 26, a young woman in Albuquerque, New Mexico frantically called 911 after her friend, high school senior Jaydon Chavez-Silver, was struck by random bullets that came from outside the house party they were attending. According to Conservative Tribune, the call was taken by emergency dispatcher Matthew Sanchez, who repeatedly asked the girl if Chavez-Silver was still breathing, to which she responded that he was, but just barely.
When Sanchez asked the question again, the desperate girl replied, “He’s barely breathing. How many times do I have to f—ing tell you?”
Hearing this, Sanchez lost his temper.
“You can deal with it yourself,” he told her. “I’m not going to deal with this, ok?”
The girl begged Sanchez to help her friend, but he abruptly hung up on her. Chavez-Silver later died from his wounds at a nearby hospital.
“After learning of the alleged misconduct, Driver Matthew Sanchez was immediately removed from the dispatch center and placed on administrative assignment. An internal investigation has been initiated. As the Chief of the department, I am taking the allegation very seriously,” said AFD Chief David Downey.
The thug who shot Chavez-Silver is still at large.
