For the last week, the U.S. has been captivated by the story of Rachel Dolezal, the race-baiting president of her local NAACP chapter who was just outed as white by her parents.
Dolezal had been posing as a black woman for years before her parents revealed the truth, and during that time, she regularly spoke out against whites. Last month, she travelled to Baltimore to encourage the protesters to continue their riots.
“I wanted to join with you in support today,” Dolezal told protesters outside police union headquarters in Baltimore on May 20. “This is something that is affecting us nationwide, and if there is no justice, there will be no peace.”
Dolezal then initiated the chant, “No justice, no peace! No racist police!”
During her visit, Dolezal also met with Baltimore City State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby, who has become infamous for her strict anti-white, anti-cop stances.
Dolezal has been making the rounds in the media this week, and she is standing by her claim that she is a black woman. She has also denied that she is a racist using blackface to mock African Americans.
“I have a huge issue with blackface. This is not some freak ‘Birth of a Nation’ mockery blackface performance,” she told Matt Laurer on Today. “This is on a very real, connected level. How I’ve had to go there with the experience, not just a visible representation, but with the experience.”
