On Wednesday, an FBI agent was attacked by a knife-wielding ISIS terrorist while the official was searching his home on Staten Island.
According to The Gateway Pundit, the FBI-NYPD Joint Terrorism Task Force was searching the home of 21 year-old Fareed Mumuni in connection with an ISIS-related investigation involving a Queens college student, who was arrested last weekend. During the search, Mumuni attacked an agent before being subdued by other members of the FBI.
After his arrest, Mumuni said he kept two knives (one in his room and one in his car) to attack law enforcement officers. He confessed that he had pledged his allegiance to ISIS, and that he planned to travel overseas to join them in the Middle East. If his efforts to make it to ISIS failed, Mumuni was planning to lure law enforcement officers to his home for an attack, which he was in the process of coordinating with others.
Reports say that when the FBI arrived at the home, Mumuni’s mother allowed them to search it. The suspect then came down the stairs and lunged at an agent, whose protective armor saved him from being harmed by the knife. Luckily, there were no serious injuries in this case.
Mumuni has been arrested and charged with the attempted murder of an FBI agent. It looks like this guy won’t be joining up with ISIS anytime soon!
While we’re happy that nobody was injured, this case offers chilling prove that ISIS is operating within our country. This young wannabe terrorist has been caught, but how many more are there like him in our midst?
