In just 24 hours, Caitlyn Jenner has become the darling of America after revealing her new identity and look. Liberals have rallied around her, calling her a “goddess,” however, not everyone is celebrating the person formerly known as Bruce Jenner.
Some conservatives have pointed out that it’s important to remember that Jenner has a disease, and that it is important to pray for her.
During a recent interview, conservative icon Tom Selleck addressed this when he spoke out against plastic surgery.
“I’ve never done it. That’s not to say I won’t,” Selleck said when asked if he would get plastic surgery. “I don’t have a problem with it as long as it’s not just vanity…I don’t have anything really against it, if I can look at it as a tool and not a kind of narcissistic manifestation of vanity, which it probably is anyway; but I do think there’s a difference between that kind of vanity and your work. If it allows you to do your job and be accepted in a larger variety of things, I think it’s okay.”
In essence, Selleck is saying that people need to focus on becoming comfortable in their own skin rather than on what they look like on the outside. Men should focus on being better men on the inside, and the same goes for women.
There’s more to being a woman than just physical appearance. According to men like Selleck, Jenner should keep that in mind!
