When a group of Muslims tried to impose Shariah Law on Texas, they quickly learned that they’d picked the wrong state to mess with.
It all started when Muslims in Northern Texas established an Islamic Tribunal meant to serve Muslims in the region with a Shariah-compliant court for family law and domestic disputes.
This push for Shariah Law was stopped dead in it’s tracks this week when the Texas Senate passed a bill outlawing foreign codes of law in Texas courts. Though the bill didn’t specifically mention Muslims or Shariah Law, it was clear the law was targeting them.
“It’s just to provide some belt and suspenders to make sure that, with judicial discretion, we don’t trump Texas law, American law, with a foreign law regarding family law,” said State Sen. Donna Campbell.
Muslims groups like the Council on American-Islamic Relations have already denounced the bill as both Islamophobic and unnecessary, adding that it was a “solution looking for a problem.”
Despite their protests, the bill is currently on the Governor’s desk waiting to be signed into law.
If Muslims are going to try to take over America, they might want to start in a state that is NOT Texas!
