On Wednesday, Omaha Police Officer Kerrie Orozco, 29, was shot dead by a black thug just hours before she was set to go on maternity leave.
The shooting occurred when Orozco and her fellow officers were trying to serve a felony arrest warrant to a fugitive thug named Marcus D. Wheeler. Wheeler in turn began firing at the officers, and Orozco was unfortunately hit. She was rushed to a nearby hospital, but she sadly died there at 1 p.m.
Wheeler was also hit, but he survived his injuries.
Orozco was a married mother of three who gave birth to a premature baby girl a few months ago. She had decided to not start her maternity leave until the baby could come home from the hospital. Wednesday was to be her last day at work.
“A life taken too soon,” Omaha Police Department said on their Facebook page, adding that the seven-year veteran of the force was “not only a top notch police officer but she gave back to the community in so many ways.”
“Today’s tragic news is devastating to the law enforcement community and all Nebraskans,” Governor Pete Ricketts, wrote on twitter. “We must all ensure that Officer Orozco’s sacrifice will never be forgotten.”
Of course, you won’t be hearing about this story in the mainstream media since it was a black thug killing a white cop. Let’s get this story out so that Orozco can get the justice she deserves.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Orozco’s family, especially her baby girl Olivia, who is set to go home from the hospital today.
