I fancy myself to be a bit of a handyman. My wife always has me doing odd jobs around the house, and I tend to always keep my toolbox handy in the case of emergencies.
However, even I didn’t know this nifty fact about screwdrivers. Apparently, the handles of most screwdrivers are shaped so that a wrench can slide over them for more torque.
This information was recently shared by a reddit user, and it quickly blew the minds of internet users everywhere.
“I just could not get these Torx screws to budge with a screwdriver alone, with penetrating fluid, or by tapping the butt of the screwdriver with a hammer before trying again,” the user said. “Heating the screw with a torch was not an option either, due to oil and other flammable materials nearby.”
Wow, I had no idea!
