Shocking footage has been released of a deputy repeatedly hitting 38-week pregnant veteran.
Deputies and workers from Child Protective Services were at Deanna Robinson’s Texas home to remove her 18 month-old son because of abuse allegations following a fight between her and her husband.
Home surveillance footage shows Robinson cornered by cops in her parent’s kitchen on March 4. Though she is not clearly visible, the veteran can be heard screaming, “Let go, you know I’m pregnant.” One of the officers can then be seen raising his hand and hitting Robinson multiple times.
“I’m 38 weeks pregnant, and with my stomach again repeatedly pressed into that counter, and with my 18-month old son watching his mother be assaulted, and him screaming in fear,” Robinson told the press. “There’s nothing that warrants what they did to me.”
She claims her pregnant stomach hit the kitchen counter multiple times during the assault.
Robinson was once awarded the Air Force’s highest honor, the Airman’s Medal, for helping to drag multiple soldiers to safety from a burning plane in Iraq.
After the incident last month, Robinson spent six days in jail for charges of resisting arrest, interfering with child custody and assaulting an officer. Six days after her release, her son Levi was born.
“It’s ridiculous, it’s insane,” she said. “I was handcuffed almost immediately and shoved into a corner by two giant men. I wouldn’t have had an opportunity to assault anyone. There’s nothing to warrant what they did to me.”
