Shocking video has emerged of the moment Harrison Ford crashed his plane onto a California golf course.
The footage shows Ford’s plane appear in the sky and plummet to the Earth as stunned golfers look on.
One of the golfers turned out to be a doctor, and he has described the moments after the Hollywood actor crashed.
“He was stunned a bit,” said spinal surgeon Sanjay Khurana. “He was moaning and in pain. It was obvious by his face, it was Harrison Ford. I’m old enough, or young enough, to have watched all his ‘Star Wars’ films. So, it was obvious.”
Dr. Khurana and his friends pulled the Indiana Jones actor from the World War II-era plane as a large amount of fuel leaked out of it.
“We wanted to get him out safely and with the fuel leaking out, I motioned to some of the other folks at the golf course to put dirt on the fuel so it wouldn’t combust,” he said. “I just wanted to get him out safely so that the situation wouldn’t erupt into a fire.”
Ford, 72, is being hailed as a hero by witnesses who say he managed to steer his plane away from homes as he plummeted to the Earth.
“Looking at where he crashed and how the plane went down, I’m sure there was a moment where he said, ‘I’m not going to risk lives, whatever happens, happens. It’s going to be just me,'” said Eddie Aguglia, who witnessed the crash.
Ford’s condition has been described as “moderate” and doctors expect him to make a full recovery.
