President Obama made his first comments about Ferguson on Thursday after the Department of Justice revealed they would not be charging Officer Darren Wilson with the death of Michael Brown.
Clearly enraged that he couldn’t get charges against the police officer to stick, Obama slammed American police departments, strongly implying that they are “racist.”
“I think that there are circumstances in which trust between communities and law enforcement have broken down, and individuals or entire departments may not have the training or the accountability to make sure that they’re protecting and serving all people and not just some,” Obama said during an interview with Sirius XM.
Instead of focusing on the fact that Officer Wilson was found innocent, Obama told the press that the Department of Justice’s findings show that civil rights is an “unfinished project.”
“There is work to be done right now,” he added, according to Daily Mail.
The Department of Justice compiled a 350,000 page report on racial profiling in Ferguson in the hopes of charging Officer Wilson. Unfortunately for them and Obama, they couldn’t find any charges that would actually stick in American courts, so all the president can do now is whine about police across the country.
It’s despicable that our president is speaking out against the men and women who put their lives on the line to protect us every day. Shame on you, Obama, shame on you…
