Chris Kyle’s widow Taya attended the Oscars last night to support the film American Sniper, which was nominated for six awards including Best Picture. While at the ceremony, Taya let her support for her husband be known by honoring him in a uniquely beautiful way.
As she stunned in a green gown on the red carpet, Taya was photographed clutching her husband’s military dog tags. The evening out was undoubtedly a welcome break for Taya, who has been attending the trial of her husband’s killer for the last two weeks.
Earlier in the day, the widow opened up about how difficult the last few weeks have been for her.
“I have a pounding headache and woke up intermittently sleeping and having nightmares about the evils of the world,” she wrote, according to Daily Mail.
Taya added that she is also “really happy that so much healing is happening” and that military families were “healing from this movie.”
While walking the red carpet with her sister, Taya choked up when reporters asked her about her husband. She also admitted to Good Morning America’s Robin Roberts that she planned to take a red eye back to Texas right after the ceremony ended so that she could continue to attend the trial of Eddie Ray Routh, the man who murdered Chris Kyle.
