Tim McGraw is known as a good ole country boy with a successful music career and a beautiful wife, Faith Hill. However, this country boy has revealed that he may not be as conventionally “country” as he may seem.
A few years ago, McGraw admitted that he is not only an Obama-supporter, but also a hardcore Democrat.
“It’s innate in me to be a blue-dog Democrat. I’m not saying I’m right or wrong, but that’s what I am,” he told People. “My wife and I and our family will do everything we can to support Obama. I like his ideas, I like his energy, and I like the statement he would make for our country to the world.”
To make matters worse, McGraw has stated that he hopes to one day enter politics. According to Today, McGraw was recruited years ago to run for a U.S. Senate seat in Tennessee, but he passed because of family obligations. Later on he admitted that he’s more interested in becoming Governor of Tennessee one day instead of being a senator.
“It’s more of a leadership role, and I think that’s something that I’d do well,” he said. “That doesn’t rule out senator; I just think that as governor of a state, especially where I live, there would be a lot more opportunities to make some decisions and change some things.”
Sickeningly enough, McGraw cites Bill Clinton as his inspiration to get into politics, calling him, “the best president we ever had.”
