In a speech at University of Mary Hardin—Baylor on Wednesday, former President George W. Bush summed up Islamic radicals in just three words.
“Evil is real,” Bush told the crowd, according to The Blaze.
“There is no light grey,” the former president added. “Murdering innocent people to move a political point of view has been, is and always will be evil.”
When asked about the Paris terrorist attacks, Bush replied that the “nature of these enemies are the same of those who attacked us on our soil.”
Bush then warned that there are “real dangers in an isolationists tendency” and that withdrawing completely from the Middle East is a bad idea.
“And so when the pressure is off, they strike in order to frighten us who believe in freedom,” the 43rd president concluded.
