Yes, unfortunately, you read that right. So much is wrong with just that one sentence, it is difficult to continue. An 18-year-old girl is currently engaged to her father. She did not grow up in his home and claims there has never been any abuse of any kind. But, after 12 years of estrangement, it only took a week for this teen to give up her virginity to dear old dad.
Conceived on prom night, when both parents were 18, this young woman “from the great lakes area” never felt like she had a father. She blames her mother’s bipolar disorder for the couple’s demise and the length of the estrangement. The teen claims her mother was “so controlling” that she wouldn’t allow a relationship between father and daughter.
It typical teenage fashion, this young lady claims, “When you are 18 you know what you want. You’re an adult under the law and you’re able to consent.” Of course, everyone who was once 18 felt that way at 18 only to discover at 25 you often want something entirely different.
Regardless, this story is like something out of 16th century Europe when royal families were trying to ensure they would remain in power…only without the money, prestige, or power. It also demonstrates how greatly society has changed in the last 50 years.
This teen claims to be “bi-sexual”, not a term one would have heard often just a generation ago. Now, it is not only ok, but widely accepted as normal. Until the late 70’s however, homosexuality was still in the diagnostic manual as a mental disorder.
Secondly, this 18 year old felt comfortable enough with a grown man, never mind that he was her father, that in one week’s time she went from virgin to consenting to incest. Although she claims she wasn’t forced, etc. she knowingly and willingly had sex with her biological father. There are no words to describe how society once felt and really still feels about that.
Finally, as if she is a geneticist, this girl plans to wed and procreate with daddy dearest because she thinks the genetic risks are exaggerated. Irresponsible much? This young girl has so romanticized the relationship with her father that she expects it to last forever and generate no consequences to her offspring. Her solution to avoid the haters? They are moving to New Jersey, where adult incest is not illegal.
What is happening to the United States of America? This is beyond sickness. How can this father, and apparently his parents, participate in this relationship? How can a state endorse it? Let us all pray for any children that emerge from this relationship, even if genetic issues do not surface, there will be issues.
