Ohio State won the first ever college championship game on Monday, but not before trampling one of their own cheerleaders.
The young woman ended up face-down on the field after enthusiastically shaking her pom-poms. MailOnline reports that she had been carrying the ‘O’ flag to complete the waving banner for Ohio.
As she struggled to escape, one player tripped over her, nearly causing a domino-effect among the rushing team.
Luckily, the cheerleader was rescued by a male teammate. She was uninjured and able to enjoy the game from the sidelines. The victory was followed by riots, as police released tear gas to disperse the wild crowd.
