Thugs Attempt “NYPD-Style” Assassination of North Carolina Police Officer

December 29, 2014 11:13am PST

Two black men attempted to assassinate a North Carolina police officer on Thursday night at around 10 p.m. Officer J.T. West was able to save his own life when he noticed the men approaching his cop car in the rear-view mirror. He was seated inside the vehicle working on a report, according to Bearing Arms.

West exited his vehicle to confront the pair, at which point one of the men “walked up and began shooting at him” without saying a word, according to police. It was clear that the men were out for blood in a retaliation attack for the deaths of Michael Brown and Eric Garner, which this particular officer had nothing to do with.

The “Durham police officer dove for cover,” police said on Friday. The suspect fired off six shots, hitting the squad car once. West returned fire, however, it is unknown if he hit his assailant. Area hospitals have been placed on alert, should suspects fitting the descriptions of the men who attacked West come in with gunshot wounds.

ABC 11 reported the descriptions of the suspects:

The man who fired the gun was described as a black male, 18 to 25 years old, approximately 6 feet tall with a skinny build. He was wearing an oversized black hoodie. The second suspect was described as a black male, 18 to 25 years old, 5 feet 8 inches to 6 feet tall and weighing 180 to 200 pounds. He was wearing a light-colored jacket.

West escaped the attack unscathed, except for a minor wrist injury, which he incurred when he dove behind a staircase at a vacant apartment building at 1414 Lakeland St. He was treated at a nearby hospital and released.

The Durham Police Officer called for backup, and a police dog was called in to track the two suspects, but the search ended fruitlessly on South Alston Street with no sign of the men.

Bearing Arms reported:

The attempted assassination mimicked the tactics used to murder NYPD officers Rafael Ramos and Wenjian Liu on December 20.

The Baltimore gang member who killed [them] walked up on the right rear of the officers’ marked police car and opened fire without warning. The gang member in that instance—who committed suicide minutes later in a subway as authorities closed in—cited the deaths of Michael Brown [and] Eric Garner as his excuse to “put pigs in a blanket.”

It was also noted that, “The national news media has not mentioned the attempted assassination at all, though it continues to fawn over the “social justice” revolutionaries using the mythologies of “Hands Up, Don’t Shoot” and “I Can’t Breathe” as they disrupt lawful commerce, attack police officers, riot, and loot private businesses.”

Law enforcement officers nationwide have been placed on high-alert as the senseless trend of assassinating cops continues to play out within the black community. Luckily, Officer West was paying attention to his surroundings, which ultimately saved his life.
