Joe Thomas, the seven-time Pro Bowl Cleveland Browns left tackle, is being fined $10,000 per day for doing work on his own property. Environmental regulators in Wisconsin are charging Thomas because he did not pull a permit.
The football star did work on his land which included building bridges and dams, dredging a pond, tearing down a barn and getting rid of manure – all common practices for land owners.
According to TPNN, Thomas purchased the land as a place to hunt, but it was littered with old farm buildings and equipment, as well as trash that needed to be removed. “My whole idea was to make it a fish and wildlife paradise like it used to be,” he said.
