Armed Protesters Loot Black-Owned Business

The “Black Lives Matter” protests have spread across the country in the wake of the deaths of Michael Brown and Eric Garner at the hands of police officers. Unfortunately, these protests often descend into violent lootings of local businesses, and as this video shows, the looters don’t seem to care if the business owners are black or white.

Security footage from Emerysville, California shows rioters looting a convenience store that is owned by a black family. The video shows an employee lock the store doors, and the protesters then smash them open before proceeding to steal everything they can find.

The store is owned by Raheil Drar and her father, who spent the night cleaning up the mess caused by the rioters.

“I think it’s ridiculous,” Drar said. “I think it’s crazy that you’re ruining your own community. This is black owned and operated. It’s family operated. It’s no corporation. It’s coming out of our pockets.”

“I don’t want to even refer to them as [protesters],” she added. “Protesters didn’t do this. Looters, vandals did this, thugs.”

When asked if she had a message for the violent “protesters,” the young woman didn’t hold back.

“This doesn’t accomplish anything. It really takes away from the cause. Just stop,” she said. “This isn’t just a peaceful protest over something. This has turned into something completely different and we’re not going to tolerate violence or damage in our city.”
