Ferguson Police Chief Thomas Jackson is looking into charging the stepfather of Michael Brown for inciting violence after the grand jury decision not to indict Police Officer Darren Wilson. Louis Head was caught on film agitating angry protesters ahead of the violent looting and torching of local businesses. Head repeatedly told the race rioters to “burn this b*tch down.”
Jackson told Fox News, “We are pursuing those comments, and there’s a lot of discussion going on about that right now. But, I really can’t get into that at this time.” He did say that the police were looking for any and all rioters who participated in illegal behavior following the grand jury decision, and those culprits would be “prosecuted to the full extent of the law.”
Jackson also issued a warning to Dorian Johnson, Brown’s friend who witnessed his shooting. The Police Chief said it is now “up to the Prosecuting Attorney’s office to look into” Johnson for perjury, as he testified that Brown had his hands raised in surrender when he was shot. All other witnesses who testified before the grand jury said otherwise. “We’re very focused on getting all the violent criminals that went through our community the other night,” said Jackson.
Missouri Lieutenant Governor Peter Kinder has also called for the arrest of Head. “He should be arrested and charged with inciting to riot,” the state Republican lawmaker said last week. “It’s a decision for the prosecuting authorities to make, it’s not my decision,” Kinder told Fox News.
The Lt. Governor also slammed Obama over his Monday meeting with Al Sharpton and other civil rights leaders at the White House. “I cannot imagine any previous American president of either party welcoming an inciter of mobs like Rev. Sharpton into the White House, into his inner councils for sober advice, you’re not going to get it from him,” Kinder said.
