Well, at least one music industry mogul has their head screwed on straight.
Grammy Award-winning producer and acclaimed songwriter Pharrell Williams has taken heat in the past for his opinions on race. He once told Oprah that “the new black doesn’t blame other races for our issues.” Now, Williams has spoken out about the death of Michael Brown and the subsequent race riots.
The famous musician said that the 18-year-old’s behavior in the moments before he was fatally shot by Police Officer Darren Wilson was “bullyish.” Williams said that the black community would do well to examine the issues which led to that kind of behavior. “Why aren’t we talking about that?” he asked.
