Several women have recently come forward and accused Bill Cosby of drugging and raping them years ago. The allegations against the actor with such a squeaky-clean image have effectively shocked the nation. As more women continue to pour out of the woodwork with similar stories, CNN’s Don Lemon thought it wise to add his two cents. As usual, he probably should have just kept his big mouth shut.

Last night, Don Lemon invited Joan Tarshis, one of Cosby’s accusers, to appear on his show to tell her side of the story. It was clear from the get go who’s side Lemon was on. He wanted to know why Tarshis had not gone to police after the alleged incident. “I didn’t go to the police because I was 19 years old,” she told him. “I was scared. And I thought nobody would believe me. I’m a 19-year-old girl and he was Mr. America — Mr. Jell-O as I called him. Why would anybody believe me, take my word against his word?”

Then, things got incredibly awkward when Lemon brought up the point that Tarshis had tried to persuade Cosby not to rape her a second time by telling him she had an infection, which he could catch and give to his wife. Her plan worked to some degree, although she alleges that Cosby forced her to perform oral sex at that point. “You — you know, there are ways not to perform oral sex if you didn’t want to do it,” Lemon said, insinuating that the woman should have used her teeth.

Tarshis was taken aback. “Oh. Um, I was kind of stoned at the time,” she responded, stunned. “And quite honestly, that didn’t even enter my mind. Now I wish it would have.”

Note to CNN: Maybe don’t let Don Lemon interview the rape victim next time.
