The grand jury verdict in the officer-involved shooting of 18-year-old Michael Brown is expected to be announced at any time, and law enforcement is preparing for civil unrest on a massive scale. The Blaze revealed that even if officer Darren Wilson, who shot and killed Brown on Aug. 9, is indicted like protesters want, police fear there will still be rowdy demonstrators in the streets.
With regard to the impending violence, a man claiming to be a Ferguson-area cop posted a chilling warning on a “St. Louis Coptalk” forum:
“If you do not have a gun, get one and get one soon. We will not be able to protect you or your family. It will be your responsibility to protect them. Our gutless commanders and politicians have neutered us. I’m serious, get a gun, get more than one, and keep one with you at all times.”
The man’s identity could not be independently verified, but his warning should still be heeded. It comes in conjunction with reports that gun sales have skyrocketed in the greater St. Louis area, rising as much as 300 percent.
Additionally, the FBI released an intelligence bulletin stating that the grand jury decision “will likely be exploited by some individuals to justify threats and attacks against law enforcement and critical infrastructure. This also poses a threat to those civilians engaged in lawful or otherwise constitutionally protected activities.”
This is the perfect lesson for all of the gun-grabbers who do not think that the Second Amendment is relevant today. I wonder if they will feel the same way when their homes are broken into and the police are too busy fighting angry race rioters to help.
