Zacarias Moussaoui, the 46-year-old terrorist serving life in prison for his connection with the 9/11 attacks, has filed court documents which contain some very shocking claims. Moussaoui is now saying that the Saudi Arabian government, which has adamantly denied any involvement in 9/11, actually financed the attacks on the World Trade Center.
In 2006, Moussaoui was sentenced to life in prison after admitting to the terror charges against him. He has since revealed that an unnamed Saudi prince paid for himself and 19 other jihadists to learn to fly the planes which were hijacked on 9/11. Moussaoui claims in documents filed to an Oklahoma federal court that a member of the Saudi royal family “was assisting me in my Islamic terrorist activities… and was doing so knowingly for Osama bin Laden.”
To add to this bombshell, Moussaoui revealed a plot to shoot down Air Force One with President Bill Clinton inside, in which the Saudi government and Osama bin Laden were complicit. Lawyers for the federal government responded to the claims by interviewing Moussaoui at the maximum security Colorado prison where he is serving his sentence without parole. The attorneys added gravity to the terrorist’s statements, saying that he had ‘relevant’ material to contribute.
However, MailOnline reported that officials in Oklahoma have said Moussaoui’s requests to be allowed to speak in open court and to be assigned government lawyers will probably be denied, as his claims have nothing to do with any existing cases. “Even if he somehow got to the point where he could testify, there would be a credibility issue,” remarked Carl Tobias, a professor at the University of Richmond School of Law. “Would his testimony be valuable? That’s doubtful,” he added.
Do you think these claims made by Moussaoui hold any weight? On one hand, he is not exactly a credible source, but on the other hand, he doesn’t have much reason to lie at this point. Give us your take on this report in the comments section.
