Military veterans and active-duty service members packed the National Mall on Tuesday for the first-of-its-kind Concert for Valor. Staged by HBO, Starbucks and Chase Corp., the event was intended to raise awareness for issues affecting veterans. Hundreds of thousands of people attended the concert. “What an amazing way to celebrate veterans on Veterans Day,” said Jack Black, one of the concert’s hosts.
For the most part, the Concert for Valor was well-receieved. “This is the first time since I’ve been back that I’ve felt honored to be back home, and I’m 65-years-old,” said Bobby Monk, a disabled Vietnam veteran from Washington. But some attendees were offended by Eminem, who closed the show by dropping several expletives. Take a look at the footage and let us know what you think in the comments section.
