In case you missed it, the highly anticipated Country Music Awards aired on ABC last night. Returning hosts Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood had the audience – and America – in stitches with their comedic banter. The best part was that the laughter came at the expense of Obama and the Democrats, who lost the Senate on Tuesday.
Underwood quipped, “As we stand here and celebrate and have a good time, we realize that people around the world are worried.”
“Yeah,” answered Paisley. “You can’t turn on the TV, or open up a newspaper, or click on a website without being reminded about the epidemic we’re all facing. And I don’t think I’m out of line in saying that this condition has hit Nashville the hardest.”
“That’s right, Brad,” said Underwood. “And of course we’re talking about…”
“Post-Partum Taylor Swift Disorder,” the pair chimed in unison. “Or, as it’s more commonly known, PPTSD,” relayed Underwood. For those of you who don’t follow the music scene, Swift recently released a new pop album, straying from her country roots.
“Why isn’t our government doing something about this?” asked Paisley. “I’ll be the first one to say it. President Obama does not care about Post-Partum Taylor Swift Disorder.”
“I’m pretty sure that’s why the Democrats lost the Senate,” responded Underwood. She was met by uproarious laughter.
Paisley continued the joke by making fun of Obama. Watch the clip and let us know what you think in the comments section!
