The married principal of a respected California high school has resigned after he was found in a compromising position in a local motel room.
Woody Price, 54, was the principal of the Branson School before he was found in a motel room with a passed out 21 year-old girl as well as large quantities of cocaine, heroine, and meth.
Price was found with Britney Hall after her boyfriend called police and told them that the principal was drugging her up. Cops rushed to the hotel room and found the girl passed out in the room with Price.
“He initially told us she was fine and there was nothing to worry about,” Sgt Jason Ramos said. “That clearly wasn’t apparent to the officers due to the fact that she was unresponsive. They shouted her name several times from the doorway. That was unsuccessful.”
Police then woke up Hall and searched the room, and they were shocked by what they found.
“Almost everywhere the officers looked there was some evidence of either drugs or drug paraphernalia,” Ramos said.
Hall and Price were immediately arrested on drug charges. Despite the fact that he is married, Price referred to the young girl as his girlfriend.
Price is a married father of one son, and his wife is also a high school principal at a California school.
Price resigned from his position at the prestigious private school immediately after he was released on bail. The Branson School is one of the most highly regarded private schools in the country, and it costs nearly $40,000 a year to attend it.
The school released the following statement to students and parents:
“The alleged incident did not occur on campus and did not involve any students at our school. As of this afternoon, Dr. Price is not on campus and has tendered his resignation. We are deeply troubled by these developments. We want you to be assured that our school leadership team and our board of trustees are fully committed to the health and well-being of your children. We thank you for your patience and understanding during this difficult time.”
