School Board President Calls Michelle Obama a Hypocrite

North Tonawanda Board of Education President Colleen Osborn is not a fan of Michelle Obama’s school lunch program, which has left her students hungry and resulted in millions of dollars of food being thrown in the trash. During the board’s Wednesday meeting, Osborn called Michelle out for being a giant hypocrite.

Osborn explained:

“We have students of all different shapes and sizes. Some of these kids have lunch at 10 a.m. and then they’re limited and can’t buy other things. Someone in the audience made a good point. Michelle Obama put these things into play, but her children go to private school, and they don’t have to follow these standards.”

Board Trustee Ann Finkle, a former teacher in the district, agreed with Osborn. “I’d like to see what her kids eat at school,” Finkle said. “They have gourmet chefs, and I would like to know the counts on their diets.”

The Conservative Tribune reported:

Obama’s plan is a textbook example of government overreach — the government tries to do something it has no right doing, ignoring local facts in favor of Washington “expertise,” and, shock of shocks, it fails miserably.

The Healthy Hunger-Free Kids Act should be repealed immediately, and, in fact, all federal funding for school lunches should be eliminated. Some decisions — in fact, almost all of them — are better made by the parents, teachers, and school administrators who actually know the children the government wants to “help.”

Michelle Obama is trying to control our lives under the guise of fighting childhood obesity. As usual, when a Democrat gets their hands on public policy, we end up worse off than we were before they stuck their nose in things. Let us know what you think of the Healthy Hunger-Free Kids Act in the comments section.
