Despite the very real fear of the Ebola virus entering the mainstream U.S. population, “Shameless” actor Steve Howey found the lighter side of an incurable disease that kills about fifty-percent of hosts.

On October 3, he tweeted “People shouldn’t be so scared about this virus from Africa. He only has two more years of his presidency.”

Oof! All correlating characteristics aside, Howey’s followers – like all Americans do – took sides about his tweet.

In the Angry Corner the actors’ followers hit most of the grieving stages: Denial, Anger, and Depression.

I’m actually livid. LIVID! I don’t even know why I read comments. If you follow, Steve Howey, please stop. #notfunny pic.twitter.com/Sl64NjuRyt

Though Howey later deleted his tweet (just too soon for Ebola jokes?), he has not responded to his offended followers nor officially recanted the statement.

Howey’s publicist also has had nothing to say on the matter.

But slamming the President is an inalienable right that we get the privilege of exercising in this great country, and Howey also received a lot of praise from followers for the bold folly:
