Reports have surfaced that a sly con artist posed as a congressman on September 27 in order to get to President Obama. The man was apparently so convincing that he actually made it into a secure area backstage at President Obama’s appearance at the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation awards dinner.
The impostor claimed he was Rep. Donald Payne, Jr. (D., N.J.) in order to blend in with other members of Congress. He was successful until a member of the White House staff blew his cover.
It is unclear exactly what this sneaky man planned to do if he had made it to Obama, though his little shenanigan has not helped the tarnished reputation of the Secret Service.
