On Wednesday, four pro-Israel students from Ohio University were arrested for a completely ridiculous reason. During a student Senate meeting, the president of Bobcats for Israel was detained by university police as she read an excerpt from a conservative blog post.
This student, along with three others, was charged with the fourth-degree misdemeanor of “disturbing a lawful meeting.” They could face up to 30 days in jail and each be slapped with a $250 fine under Ohio state law. Their peaceful act was in response to the President of the student Senate pouring a bucket of red paint all over herself in a dramatic demonstration of solidarity with the Palestinians.
William Jacobson, a Cornell University law professor who runs the conservative blog Legal Insurrection, noticed that one of the students arrested was reading from a summary of pro-Israel quotes he had compiled on his website:
It is clear having listened to the audio that the pro-Israel student was reading statements of university presidents from this Legal Insurrection post, University statements rejecting academic boycott of Israel, specifically the entries regarding statements issued by Brandeis University, the University of Chicago, Hamilton College and U. Connecticut, against the academic boycott of Israel (the video is edited so you don’t hear the full statements, but she follows the random sequence in our post).
The Conservative students who were arrested, Maxwell Peltz (20), Rebecca Sebo (22), Gabriel Sirkin (20), and Jonah Yulish (19), have since been released.
Student senate President Megan Marzec’s little stunt was apparently her version of the ice bucket challenge, which she calls the “Blood Bucket Challenge.” She posted a video last week urging other student to take her challenge in order to blast Israel for defending themselves against brutal Hamas terrorists. “I will never apologize for standing with the people of Palestine,” Marzec said.
This report definitively proves that there is an all-out assault taking place on Conservatives in America. Let us know what you think of this news in the comments section.
