A St. Louis police officer who was working in Ferguson, Missouri, has been caught in a rant which bashes African Americans, homosexuals and Obama. After the disturbing video above surfaced, Officer Dan Page was suspended. Page is the same cop who first made headlines for pushing CNN anchor Don Lemon during a live news broadcast of the Ferguson riots.
Page is a Vietnam veteran who has spent the last 35 years with the St. Louis police department. Police Chief Jon Belmar released a statement in response to the video of Page:
“We hold our officers to a high standard of honor both on and off duty. While we as a department do not have an issue with officers expressing themselves, this was disturbing and unacceptable. The officer is a 35 year veteran of this department and has been deployed numerous times in military service. He had passed the evaluations upon returning from deployment and there was no indication of this attitude.”

Officer Page is speaking to a group of OathKeepers in the video. The OathKeepers are an association of former and present military personnel, police officers and first responders who ‘defend the constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic.’ The cop tells the room, “And I’m real good with a rifle. My best shot is 1,875 meters, I got me a gold star on that one. You run from me you’re gonna die tired.” He goes on to say:
“I personally believe in Jesus Christ as my lord savior, but I’m also a killer. I’ve killed a lot. And if I need to, I’ll kill a whole bunch more. If you don’t want to get killed, don’t show up in front of me, it’s that simple. I have no problem with it. God did not raise me to be a coward.”
Page’s speech is lengthy, but you may watch the whole thing above if you’d like. Does it bother you more that this man was placed in a position of authority or that his First Amendment right to free speech has been stomped on? Tell us what you think in the comments section!
