Residents of Walton County in Florida are bewildered and simultaneously outraged that law enforcement officials have moved to purchase an MRAP armored vehicle – the sort used by the United States military in war zones like Iraq.

The collective uproar within Walton County stems from the fact that the area is one of the most safe places to live in all of the United States. Residents report that they even leave their doors unlocked because it is so crime-free. There is absolutely no need for the police department to house military grade weaponry.

Former Marine Corps Colonel Peter Martino warned that the DHS is working to build a domestic army as we speak, because the U.S. government is afraid of it’s own citizens. Martino remarked:

“What’s happening here, is we’re building a domestic military, because it’s unlawful or unconstitutional to use American troops on American soil. So what we’re doing, is we’re building a military.”

This move by the federal government to militarize it’s agencies goes hand in hand with the fact that they are attempting to systematically disarm the American people. Without our guns, it will be that much easier for them to control us if and when Martial Law is enacted.
