Obama Speaks Out About Robin Williams

The tributes to Robin Williams are continuing to pour in as the nation mourns one of its greatest comedic icons. One of the most famous folks to offer their condolences was Barack Obama, who can always be counted on to weigh in about celebrity matters!

According to The Huffington Post, the President released the following statement while he vacationed on Martha’s Vineyard:

Robin Williams was an airman, a doctor, a genie, a nanny, a president, a professor, a bangarang Peter Pan, and everything in between. But he was one of a kind. He arrived in our lives as an alien – but he ended up touching every element of the human spirit. He made us laugh. He made us cry. He gave his immeasurable talent freely and generously to those who needed it most – from our troops stationed abroad to the marginalized on our own streets. The Obama family offers our condolences to Robin’s family, his friends, and everyone who found their voice and their verse thanks to Robin Williams.

What a touching tribute for a truly great man; we can’t argue that Barack doesn’t have a way with words! However, it does get to be a bit annoying that when there are real, international issues to discuss (Benghazi, immigration, and the national debt, to name a few), we don’t hear a peep from Obama. Then as soon as something happens to a Hollywood celebrity, the President is the first on the scene! Typical…
