One could only imagine the anguish the Ward family is in after watching their son be run over by NASCAR’s Tony Stewart and the family is far from over settling their dispute. Apparently the grieving family has even gone so far as to call Tony Stewart a “d*ck” on their social media account for the entirety of the world to see.
As we’ve already discussed, there was little reason that Ward should have been out of his car and on the track where he knew cars were whipping by, but does this reality matter as a family mourns over the loss of a child? In a facebook post sure to tug at the heartstrings of anyone, Kevin Ward’s aunt, Wendi Ward wrote:
“I feel numb, I look into the eyes of family and see a deep hurt that should not be there, my heart has pounded out of my chest for hours, thanks for thinking of our family tony Stewart when you decided to be a dick. My nephew was one of a kind, a true race car driver, a piss head and a sweetie all in one, a young man who will be truly missed by many! Aunt Wendi loves you budster, forever in our hearts.”
The family has also come forward to thank the public for, “all the prayer and support,” but asks for, “time to grieve” and, “wrap our heads around all of this.” Stewart also addressed the public saying, “There aren’t words to describe the sadness I feel about the accident that took the life of Kevin Ward Jr. It’s a very emotional time for all involved, and it is the reason I’ve decided not to participate in today’s race at Watkins Glen. My thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends and everyone affected by this tragedy.”
What do you guys think – was this remark warranted or just the expected outcries of a grieving family?
