Just last week, Sabrina Rodriguez was on top of the world: The young woman had found success as a reporter for Fox 40 News in Sacramento, California. However, Rodriguez came crashing down to Earth last Thursday when she surrendered to police for shoplifting charges.

According to The New York Daily News, Rodriguez and an accomplice stole 10 wallets valued at $2,500 from a Folsom store in March of 2013. The case went unsolved until employees recently recognized Rodriguez during a news broadcast, and immediately reported her.

She is currently out on $10,000 bail for charges that include conspiracy, burglary, and grand theft. Rodriguez maintains her innocence, and has taken a leave of absence from the station.

To make matters worse, her fiancé has been arrested for unrelated charges of possession and arson.

It’s not looking good for this news reporter!
