Comedy has always been touch-and-go given the difference in viewer’s taste and the comic’s comedic style, but one thing has always been true – people love to laugh. Having risen through the ranks from nothing, Joan Rivers knows a little bit about comedy given the success she’s had leaving her quite wealthy at the ripe old age of 80.
So when a snotty, Liberal CNN anchor decided to complain that some of her jokes may be a little bit “mean,” the straight-to-the-point woman ripped into her delicate mindset.
For those of you unaware, Rivers takes a more direct path to comedy calling things as they are, not afraid to mince words. Of course in the times we live, the left loves to jump on just about anyone not being “tolerant” enough – and let me tell you, if she proved one thing during this interview, its that Rivers is anything but tolerant.
The interview seemed to be headed toward that more critical in nature, but when then anchor, Fredricka Whitfield, decided to comment on the fur she was wearing on the cover of her new book, she really let loose.
“This whole interview is becoming a defensive interview. Are you wearing leather shoes? Then shut up.” Calling out the anchor on some more of her leftist hypocrisy saying she ate meat and wore leather, Rivers eventually simply stood up and left.
After Rivers had cooled down from the whole ordeal, she later explained:
“Every question was an accusatory one designed to put me on the defensive. She seemed to miss the point that “Diary of a Mad Diva” is simply a very funny book and as Winston Churchill said, if you can make one person laugh, even for a minute, it’s like giving them a little vacation.”
